The black coat of the Dervishes, which is worn over the alba, symbolises the grave. The white dancing garment symbolised the shroud, and the tall hat symbolises the gravestone. Thus, they are a reminder of the morality of humans and the undeserved mercy of God, which enables humans to overcome death.
