The revision of the Dreyfus trial, 1898

This cartoon from 1898 was published on the occasion of the retrial of Alfred Dreyfus (1859–1935). It depicts Zola as a pig wallowing in the "Dreyfus swamp" and stirring up all manner of filth in the process. The cartoon is also emblematic of the staunchly anti-Semitic pursued by the originally liberal Austrian satirical magazine Kikeriki since the 1890s.
