Arthur Kaufmann's triptych depicts some of the most celebrated German and Austrian émigrés, including Albert Einstein, Fritz Lang, Arnold Schönberg, Kurt Weill, Arnold Zweig and the brothers Thomas und Heinrich Mann. Kaufmann also added his own likeness to the group portrait.
