Otto Wels (1873–1939)

Otto Wels (1873–1939) was a member of the Reichstag (German parliament) for the SPD in Imperial Germany and subsequently in the Weimar Republic. He was the chairman of the SPD from 1919 up to the beginning of National Socialist rule in Germany.
