The National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy today

The National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy was reopened in 1992 at the initiative of numerous Ukrainians living in exile in the USA and Canada. It is the successor to the academy founded by Petro S. Mohyla in 1632, which became the Kiev Theological Academy in 1819 and finally closed in 1918, following the October Revolution. Today, the institution is one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Ukraine; it comprises a total of six faculties and offers degree programmes at BA, MA and PhD levels. The languages of instruction are Ukrainian and English.
