The first complete Bible that was printed in the US was a work of the English Puritan John Eliot, who wrote a grammar of Algonquin (Massachusetts) in New England, and, in 1663, published his Algonquin translation of the Bible under the title of Mamusse wunneetu-panatamwe Up-Biblum God in Cambridge (Massachusetts).
