Mons Meg

In the early 15th century ever bigger bombards were developed as gunpowder became increasingly cheaper. A particularly impressive example is the gun "Mons Meg" which is still on display at Edinburgh Castle. It weighs over five tons and fired a stone shot of 549 lbs.
