This image shows Queen Victoria (1819–1901) surrounded by relatives. She bore her husband, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1819–1861), nine children. Their children had many offspring of their own, thus explaining how Victoria came to be called the "grandmother of Europe".
