This photograph was taken in the Lustgarten park in Berlin in April 1932 during an election rally. A huge crowd has gathered to hear Adolf Hitler (1889–1945), the leader of the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party), speak. This outcoming shows the attraction of the nationalist movement and its ability to mobilize masses by providing them with a political religion, nationalism.
