Created by the Soviet travel agent Intourist, the poster advertised Odessa as a travel destination. The representation focuses on the symbols of the city – the Potemkin Stairway and the harbour. In the striking style typical of the 1930s, the observer's eye is drawn from the Soviet flag along the stairway to the name of the city in red. The poster depicts industrial growth and the modern Soviet lifestyle as being in harmony.
