Her Majesty at the Hospital of Brompton, 1855

After shocking reports on the circumstances of the army became public in Great Britain during the winter, Queen Victoria reacted to the crisis by visiting hospitals and hosting receptions for the soldiers. At the hospital in Brompton, she visited 450 wounded and sick men.
