This painting by the Flemish-French painter Jean-Baptiste Vanmour (1671–1737) dates from the last years of the artist’s life. Vanmour became famous for his detailed depiction of Ottoman court life under Sultan Ahmed II. The view of Istanbul is shown from the Dutch embassy in Pera.
