Five-Year Plan, GDR, 1951
This photograph was taken during an event to launch the First Five-Year Plan in the GDR on New Year's Day 1951. The minster for industry, Fritz Selbmann (1899–1975), laid the foundation stone for furnace no. 1 in Hüttenkombinat Ost (Iron and Steel Works East).
