Gabriel Riesser (1806–1863)

The Jewish Lawyer Gabriel Riesser was one of the most important figures in the advancement of Jewish emancipation in Germany. As a delegate for Hamburg at the Frankfurt assembly of 1848, he succeeded in making Jewish emancipation one of the revolution's central tenets.
