Inside this ivory box dating from 1576 are portraits of the two eldest children of the later Duke of Bavaria, William V (1548–1626): Princess Christine (1571–1580) and Hereditary Prince Maximilian (1573–1651), from 1597 Duke of Bavaria and from 1623 Prince-Elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
