The Bust of Charlemagne is one of the "church treasures" of the Aachen Cathedral Treasury and was created around 1350. Charlemagne's skullcap is to be preserved on his bust. The bust, which represents an ideal image, is considered one of the most important demonstrations of Gothic gold smithery.
