The Union of Krewo refers to the personal union agreed between the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1385. The union dates back to the marriage of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Jagiello (1362–1434) to the minor Polish Queen Jadwiga of Anjou (Polish: Jadwiga Andegaweńska, 1373–1399). The Krakow monument to Queen Jadwiga and King Jagiello was erected in 1786.
