Universitätsklinik Aachen: A Large Complex on the Outskirts of the City

Soon after the founding of a medical faculty in Aachen, planning got underway for the university hospital. It took more than a decade to build and was inaugurated in 1985. Like few others, this hospital embodies the dream of a high-tech "machine à guerir." A similar large complex was built in Ulm in 2012.
