The garden of Blenheim (here we see the palace and bridge) was commissioned by John Churchill (1650–1722), 1st Duke of Marlborough, the victorious commander at the Second Battle of Höchstädt (1704), and created by Charles Bridgeman as a regular garden. It was subsequently redesigned and enlarged by Lancelot Brown.
