Y.W.C.A. – In service for the girls of the world, 1919

The poster of the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) was published after the end of the First World War and underscores the worldwide commitment of the organization to girls and young women. After the association was founded in 1855 in London, England, other Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) organizations soon followed in other cities and countries. Following the example of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), the YWCA initially provided safe accommodation and education for women. Today, the YWCA's main areas of activity are the promotion of women's health, human rights for women and children, peace work, and sustainability.
