The Italian composer and conductor Asprilio Pacelli (1570–1623) was head of the Cappella Rorantistarum of the Wawel Cathedral in Kraków, which had been founded by Sigismund I (1467–1548) in 1540, and he wrote various pieces of music for this choir. This music for the psalm "Laudate pueri" was written for Easter vespers in 1615.
